Cocao ceremonies have been around for thousands of years, all the way back to Mayan and Aztec traditions in Central and South America, used for spiritual, medicinal and ceremonial purposes for inner awakening and creative guidance.
Pure cacao is used as a heart opening medicine for people to experience safe awakening, revelation and inner healing. Cacao is used in a sacred medicinal ritual where intentions are established and once consumed, negative emotions are released and we are able to connect with the loving energy in our body.
This fantastic nourishment helps us return to a natural state of being and feeling, instead of thinking excessively, and connects us through our intuition to the mysteries of life and our precious Mother Earth. The ancient Aztecs also called raw cacao ‘Yollotl Eztli’, or ‘heart’s blood’ and there are many legends among the indigenous Amazon peoples in which the cacao bean took care of the (re) connection through the heart between man and nature.
What can you experience at a cocao ceremony?
- A spiritual journey of unity, love and ecstasy.
- Clear mental blockages, follow your heart.
- Finding a connection with your highest self, your own strength and truth.
- A space to engage in meditation to connect with the wisdom and spirit in you.
- A balance of masculine and feminine within yourself (the inner marriage).
Is cacao the same as chocolate?
Not quite. Chocolate is often composed of a mix of sugar, milk and cacao. cacao used in a cacao ceremony is different from regular chocolate we eat. It doesn’t taste like chocolate. You will be surprised when you try it for the first time. The cacao has a more intense and bitter taste.
Ritual cacao is made from ground cacao powder, ground cacao beans, cacao paste, water, cacao butter and sometimes a little bit of sugar (preferably coconut blossom sugar or a natural sugar or sweetener) all mixed into a liquid, actually very bitter but naturally rich in iron, magnesium and B complex vitamins.
In addition to all physical comforts, cacao also has a very positive effect on your state of mind. It contains tryptophan that boosts serotonin levels, which in turn gives a blissful, loving and calming feeling. It also contains cacao substances that are also released during the natural high during exercise and when we are in love.
The cacao ritual is completely tailored to your individual process. A cacao ceremony is an emotional and sensory experience. It invites you to connect with your innermost being and the core of your heart. It detoxifies your body and your soul and gives your immune system a huge boost.
Cacao is a gentle yet powerful medicine that allows you to open your heart and find healing on different levels. The active ingredients of Cacao have a strong effect on the heart chakra, bring us back to a natural state of feeling, by heart, and connect us intuitively with mother earth.
Cacao has been considered a sacred plant with powerful healing properties in Central and South America since time immemorial. And it is also called the ‘elixir of the gods’ there. An indigenous myth holds that when the Earth and its people are out of balance, the ‘sacred cacao’ comes from the rainforest to open people’s hearts and return this planet to a state of harmony and balance. This time is now!
The cacao that I will use in this ceremony comes from Peru and is raw cacao in its purest form. It has been grown with care and love especially for ceremonies. The elixir is completely safe and has no hallucinogenic effect.
Cranio sacral and Cacao ceremony
The ceremony is an invitation to come back to your essence. To say YES to life in its entirety and rediscover facets of ourselves that we had forgotten.
After drinking the cacao and setting your intentions, you sit on the treatment table and receive a Cranio-sacral session or a massage.
By drinking cacao in combination with Cranio sacral therapy, you embark on a journey that uses the power of intention, the elements, your higher consciousness and where you can experience everything that presents itself in complete safety. Experience what is there.
There is plenty of time and all the attention is for you because you are doing this session individually, so when you enter a birth process or other things arise, there is full time and attention for what is allowed to unfold.
